Traditionally, Adirondack chairs were made of wood. Today, there are more woods to choose from, as well as plastic and polywood.

2. Recycled HDPE (#2) plastic furniture is most likely not recyclable — because the recycled HDPE goes through a structural change when made into furniture — but is still a good choice because it uses fewer resources to produce than virgin HDPE plastic, and it is durable.
Overall I can’t really fault this chair, maybe the assembly could be easier but that’s not a big deal either. It’s oversized and very heavy duty which is what us plus size people need in an Adirondack chair. Also comes in a nice natural selection of colors, Weathered Acorn being our best pick.
As for the size of the chair, it’s slightly smaller then the King Size Highwood brand. Which is probably to be expected having a smaller weight capacity of 300 pounds. The seat itself is just under 21″ wide and sits 14 inches from the ground. As for the back of the chair it’s also just shorter at 36.9 inches in height. Assembly is somewhat easier, but do note: Don’t over tighten the screws or you could damage the ends,or even worse crack the slat. Just go gently if using a drill.
These are awesome! I love that you used a pattern for the pieces. I have no doubt your entire family will enjoy the nice weather…when it finally arrives, in your new chairs! Pinned!
Some types of outdoor furniture, such as the simple, stackable patio chairs with the slightly wobbly legs, are usually made with polypropylene; look for a Resin Identification Code [RIC] number (5) in a triangle on the underside of the furniture. In general, number (5) plastics are sometimes accepted for recycling, but the size and shape of the plastic furniture still usually prohibits it from being recycled curbside.
These chairs were made from treated lumber so expect these to last for a long time. These were painted a reddish=brown hue with paint with weatherproofing features. You don’t need to take these indoors in case of rain or extreme heat because these will stay beautiful outdoors.
Hi Corey! Well done! It’s really helpful article. Most of the time it happens we discard a lot of things without giving it a second though which ultimately cost us unreasonably high.Sometimes it’s because we don’t have enough knowledge of the utility. Thanks for sharing such a valuable idea:)

The climate you live in will greatly determine which wood is right for you. Those who live in wet climates will need a durable wood that resists bug infestation and rough weather. Dry climates need wood that resists sun damage, cracking, and fading. A globalized economy provides more options than ever before. A few of the most common woods include the following.
I am most certainly not a big enthusiast of art but I cannot help myself but admire these lovely chairs. It is good that you decided to take a picture with one of them, else I might mistake them for a miniature which usually comes in dollhouses, don’t you think?
