Our first set, made years and years ago, finally rotted to the point that we had to throw them out, so making a new set is on our spring “to-do” list.

Hi Sandy. I didn’t use primer either but didn’t have this issue so I’m not really sure. I have found that a nice thick coat is better than light coats in this case cause it makes a really hard laquer like finish. Sorry you are having trouble. Wish I was close so I could come take a look!

Thanks for all of the good ideas- I'm going to try this stuff next: it supposed to set in a minute - cure in an hour. It says that it works with "Most plastics"- so we'll see.
