I need two white ottomans. Bought these Adirondack chairs and they’re great but need to add the ottomans
Dear Joanne: Plastic patio furniture can’t be recycled in your curbside recycle container: Its size and shape make it a likely culprit to jam traditional MRF machinery. However, your waste hauler may accept it, if they offer bulk-waste pick-up or drop-off, as the large items they collect will be handled on a more individual basis. .

Care & MaintenanceThe Eucalyptus should be oiled with naturally refined linseed oil, or teak and hardwood oil 2-3 times per year to maintain the look and preserve the finish. If the product becomes soiled or dirty, use a mild detergent and a soft cloth or soft brush for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or products.

Thanks for all of the good ideas- I'm going to try this stuff next: it supposed to set in a minute - cure in an hour. It says that it works with "Most plastics"- so we'll see.
Oak: Durable and solid, oak is a popular wood for all types of furniture, and for good reason. It’s heavy, giving Adirondack chairs a solid feel, and it’s beautiful. The price is comparable to that of pine and cedar. However, maintenance is another matter. Direct sunlight can cause streaking or color changes. Oak chairs should be kept in the shade, and they will need a UV-protectant stain.
Usually left outside, these chairs are subject to the elements, and with that comes rain, sun, heat, wind and any other crazy form of weather your geographic location can throw at them. In terms of heat, this is one of the biggest problems when it comes to plastic adirondack chairs.

As this chair is made from Polystyrene materials, it’s also a minimal maintenance chair. Unless you want to paint the chair a different color as it only comes in a golden oak color. Which may or may not suit your decor.
Love your idea and the color! Went out and bought the exact same color (satin lagoon). I scrubbed my 2 chairs with a brush and used the hose to rinse and let them dry for hours before painting. Ran out of paint before finishing my second chair. Had to wait about 2-3 weeks to finish a little bit of touch up on 1st chair (due to back problems). I waited at least 3 weeks before even thinking about sitting on it. I also kept it in the garage for several days to dry right after spraying it (so it wouldn’t get rained on). I used an old towel to dry off the raindrops and noticed blue paint! Now I’m afraid to let anyone sit on it. I didn’t use primer. Any suggestions?
