Who knew you could spray paint outdoor plastic chairs and that about an hour of my time would result in loving them again? And the best part? …I’ve been dying to use these bright colors and finally had a perfect excuse! Seriously, this project was so simple. It took me about an hour (broken up into two 30 minute spray sessions) to do 6 chairs. .
For regular maintenance wash your chair with soap and water. For deep cleaning or to remove fungi, use a solution of 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water. Fungi can also be removed using any readily available antifungal product. A high-pressure power washer may be used to keep your furniture looking new. Pressure should not exceed 1,500 psi. The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases. I would imagine your garage is too humid. Spray paint takes longer to fully cure if it’s humid.

What an awesome project! Great tips for making these chairs. I love how they turned out.
Glad to hear Tim. Thanks for letting us know. I’m with you as far as getting in & out. I have just heard a few complaints from older folks about it being low to the ground, which causes difficulty getting up and down. These chairs are designed low to the ground & most people usually know that when purchasing or using them. Thanks for stopping by
“Our great specialty is to supply everything that an Invalid needs; but a stock so large and varied as ours necessarily runs into comforts and luxuries that well folks want,” reads an advertisement of the Sargent Manufacturing Company of New York, maker of a variety of invalid chairs.
Building it is somewhat challenging and requires a little more than beginner woodworking skills. So unless you have mastered the woodworking trade, the last thing you want is wood that is difficult to work with.
The Adirondack’s classic lines are a fitting choice for any location. Question is, which fit do you prefer? If you thought there was only one design to choose from, you’ve got another two options coming. Each one, just as comfortable as the next.
Each one of these chairs is incredibly stable when you sit on them. They are also very expensive because of how they are usually built regarding their material, sturdiness, and durability.
Lots of small everyday household products, such as milk jugs, are made with HDPE. When you put those HDPE products in your recycling container, they’re often recycled into bigger everyday household products, such as trashcans, or — you guessed it — outdoor furniture. In the case of HDPE, the recycling process is sometimes referred to as “downcycling” because the original HDPE experiences some changes to its basic property types during the recycling process, and can’t be recycled a second time (when it’s in its outdoor furniture form).
Most pickup trucks can haul 6 Adirondack chairs. Pictured are 6 Adirondack chairs in an 6.5' bed pickup truck with the tailgate closed.
Do you have any idea as to whether they would hold two for you if you called and they had them?
I don t believe in an antique piece being made available only to a certain gender because its beauty is timeless and can be enjoyed by just about anybody. I personally would want that as my workdesk which can also double up as a TV console once I am done with work.
