One thing that I have to mention with this chair is the sheer number of color varieties it has. Most companies will offer a couple like 5 -6 which is great. This company has gone above and beyond offering a total of 18 different colors so there’s most likely something for your outdoor setting.
Double Adirondack Chairs - by RS Woodworks @ LumberJocks.com ~ woodworking community .
This is a power tool challenge project where a few of my fellow bloggers and myself get together and create a project based on one theme. This months theme is Spring. We are building Adirondack chairs to welcome the warm weather of Spring. Each project must be created using at least one power tool. Make sure to check out these other projects. Links to each project are below the image.
So bad, right?! To get just a bit more use out of them I decided to paint them last Spring. Painting these wobbly old chairs gave them another season. This is what they looked like after paint: (you can find that project here: Painting Adirondack Chairs)
As the weather starts to warm up we start to think about spending more time outside. We decided that this year we want to build Adirondack chairs from scratch. Building your own Adirondack chairs has to be better than spending a small fortune on them, right? We tease a friend of ours for spending over $500 on new Adirondack chairs. Lucky for us, we found free plans to build Adirondack chairs online which makes this project so much easier.
I don’t believe in an antique piece being made available only to a certain gender because its beauty is timeless and can be enjoyed by just about anybody. I personally would want that as my workdesk which can also double up as a TV console once I am done with work.

By the 1950s, the introduction of antibiotics and other treatments for tuberculosis made the sanatoriums obsolete and cure chairs unnecessary. “When the TB years ended, a lot of them were sent straight to the dump,” says Catania, who still owns one and uses it for reading—until it lulls her into a doze. “They’re really good napping chairs.” Irving Wolpin's "Lawn Chair or Similar Article," patented April 12, 1938 U.S. Design Patent 109,239
Building Adirondack furniture is a time-honored craft. Sturdy and rustic, this furniture can be a beautiful addition to any indoor decor, although it's most often used to set the scene outdoors. There, the furniture is subjected to a lifetime of abuse. Yearly it moves from somewhere hidden away (probably dark and musty winter storage) to front-and-center on the summer stage. Now, hour after hour it is beaten on by intense UV light, drenched in driving rains, then fried again in the summer sun.
The Three Graces…LOL. ( you have to know your art, to get that joke) Here are my new Adirondack Tall Chairs done. I had previously posted the Armless Bar Chair, but these have the same arms as my Adirondack Arm Chair.
The white oak has better water resistance capabilities. It has smaller, tighter pores and doesn’t suck up moisture from the surface below, making it ideal for Adirondack chairs to be placed outside.
I’m in desperate need to get spare parts for my chairs. Tried calling the company no help….HELP
3. If you can’t determine what kind of plastic your furniture is, then it’s best not to try to recycle it, because doing so could lead to contamination of other recyclable plastics.
The climate you live in will greatly determine which wood is right for you. Those who live in wet climates will need a durable wood that resists bug infestation and rough weather. Dry climates need wood that resists sun damage, cracking, and fading. A globalized economy provides more options than ever before. A few of the most common woods include the following.
Being an outdoor piece of furniture does require them to have a good amount of weatherproofing since they take the brunt of the elements. This is why this Polywood Adirondack chair really stands out for me and what makes it an easy recommendation in my opinion.
You can place these on your patio, in a shaded part of your garden or under a pergola where you can relax and meditate. This is a family project waiting to happen!
